According to IMDB, the 1950s-set drama centers on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as "the Master" whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man:
the trailer does a good job at not giving much of the plot away, but just so we're all on the same page, this is Anderson's long awaited "Scientology movie". so, get ready for some heated controversy come this fall. and Mr. Cruise, you better "hide yo kid, hide yo wife" cause you're probably gonna want to skip this one. my advice to you is to take Suri bag shopping at Barneys, and keep Katie locked up in her chamber with some Dawson's Creek DVD's to hold her over until Thanksgiving. or if the Travolta's aren't too busy getting rubbed down, bring the families together and make a little vacay out of the whole debacle. that's what we did with the Horowitz's when The Passion of the Christ was released. OY VEY!
starring Joaquin Pheonix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.
